Our Story
Bringing outdoor living to life is what Gensun is all about. The name Gensun, comes from “Gen” meaning ideas, new and creative, and “Sun” for the outdoors and the sun in the sky. Together, Gensun means ideas under the sun.
Gensun is a family-owned company with headquarters in Fontana, California. Lisa Zhou, who was the CEO and owner since the company’s inception in 2001, has established an iconic brand and timeless partnerships that are the key to the company’s success. Lisa still offers her time and guidance to support the Gensun Team, but as of mid 2026, she passed the CEO and ownership reins to her daughter, Laurie Liu, who has been with the company since 2019. Laurie continues to build on the success and relationships she has established in the casual industry.
At its outset, Gensun set the goal of being the best manufacturer of cast aluminum furniture. Our designs are detailed for style and comfort. We use the highest quality materials, including aluminum alloy 356, and a molding process that allows the intricacy of the design to be accomplished. We take extra steps in the metal finishing stage to prepare the product for painting. Then our paint system uses an 8-step cleaning process to accomplish a very smooth finish and excellent adhesion of the powder coat base. Some finishes also have a hand-painted antiquing, that is baked-on. Gensun is known to offer the best value available for quality outdoor furniture and accessories. Customer service, customization and timely deliveries are key objectives of the company’s mission.
In addition, Gensun produces all its own products. From the 500,000 ft² state of the art factory in Tianjin, to the soft goods production and warehousing out of our CA headquarters, we are the manufacturer. This allows us to keep a close watch on every step in the production process to maintain consistent quality and exceptional service.
